INSIDE World Festival of Interiors

Australia’s sole shortlisted project of the INSIDE World Festival of Interiors has taken out an award. The three-day event is the only global interiors festival that acknowledges the talented interior designers and architects, and their inspiring projects and developments. It’s the sister festival to the World Architecture Festival which was hosted from the 15th -17th November at the Arena Berlin.

SJB has been awarded ‘Best Residential’ for their Cleveland Rooftop project.

SJB Residential winner of the INSIDE World Festival of Interiors

Cleveland Rooftop is a concrete-lined rooftop apartment located in Sydney’s original Demco Machinery building. The new structure spans between two existing elements on the rooftop: the goods lift enclosure and the emergency stairs. SJB state “the approach architecturally was to realise a garden that you happened to live in, rather than an apartment surrounded by greenery. The private garden draws on and complements the adjoining communal roof garden, while delivering a single private oasis dwelling.”

We’re honoured to see our Endicott split stone flooring featured in this stunning rooftop garden.

INSIDE World Festival of Interiors judges said of the project: “It cleverly negotiates the programmatic requirement of a developer, finely balances the public and private realm and does so with a high degree of design”.
