Grand and Gentle

Hidden away on a magical peninsula is this impressive family home, surrounded by ocean and beach views.

Luke Trovato, of Gartner Trovato, revealed that his architectural inspiration was very much a reflection of the site itself. Eager to embrace the landscape and surrounding geography, he selected a natural palette of Alpine dry stone walling, soft natural render colors and native planting – the end result being that the home effortlessly blends into its surrounds.

The ground floor in particular sits into the rock bed to create a natural architectural feel. Engineered zinc eaves and fascias float above the top of the house, affording a sense of delicacy to the grand-scale building. The multiple cantilevered balconies appear to hover alongside the build and, when standing on them gazing out, it’s almost as if you could reach forward and touch the sea.

Plentiful proportions and coursing daylight make this property feel grand yet welcoming at the same time. The natural material palette easily helps to blend the house into its surrounds while the vistas are spellbinding. It’s a truly exceptional family home.
